YES, SalonBiz Light is a totally free salon management software solution.


Can I use SalonBiz Light™ with more than one computer?
No, SalonBiz Light™ is designed to work with only one computer and one cash drawer.  To accommodate more than one computer, SalonBiz, another product of Extended Technologies is a great option. SalonBiz can accommodate multiple computers with different configuration and networking options. Visit www.salonbiz.com.

Can I use credit card processing with SalonBiz Light™?
Yes, SalonBiz Light™ Credit Card Integration streamlines your point of sale and your closing process while offering the ability to integrate credit card processing with the software.  Within 1-3 seconds*, credit cards are authorized through Chase Paymentech, the largest credit card processor in the US, at competitive rates.  
(*Must have high-speed internet with a static ip address for this integration)

What happens if I outgrow SalonBiz Light™?
Salons who outgrow SalonBiz Light™ can easily upgrade to the SalonBiz®/SpaBiz® Standard or Enterprise edition.  SalonBiz®/SpaBiz® can accommodate you as your business grows with many options.

Does SalonBiz Light™ handle gift certificate and series sales and redemptions?
No, gift certificates and series are only available in SalonBiz®/SpaBiz® and SalonBiz®/SpaBiz® Enterprise.

Does SalonBiz Light™ handle gratuities?
Yes, you can choose to track gratuities through SalonBiz Light™.  There are also two gratuity reports included for tracking and payment purposes.

Does SalonBiz Light™ offer a time clock feature?
No, the time clock feature is only available in SalonBiz®/SpaBiz® and SalonBiz®/SpaBiz® Enterprise.

Why was SalonBiz Light™ created?
We acknowledge that small salons need a place to start, so we designed software for that market to support them in running their business efficiently.  We wanted to give something back to the salon industry, so we created a product that would jump start salons to computerize.

Who is SalonBiz Light designed for?

  • Salons with 4 or less service technicians
    SalonBiz Light is restricted to appointment booking for only four technicians that provide a service. To accommodate more than four service technicians, SalonBiz, is a great option. With SalonBiz, there is no limit to the number of service technicians. Visit www.salonbiz.com.

What does SalonBiz Light offer?
SalonBiz Light is a salon management software package designed for small salons. We offer the following features:

  • Point of sale - ticket transactions, cash drawer management, payment reconciliation
  • Appointment book - preset default settings make set up easy! Basic automated appointment book for up to 4 service technicians with customized service pricing and timing per service technician.
  • Inventory management - full inventory of products, purchase and receiving order capability, inventory counts, min/max settings and adjustments
  • Basic reports - basic management reports

What does SalonBiz Light offer to Aveda salons?

    • The Aveda product database complete with items and retail pricing
    • The Aveda Vital Signs reports

What if I need support?
We offer the following support options for our SalonBiz Light™ customers:

  • FREE On-line user guides are available in the support area of this website.
  • Email any questions you have to contactus@salonbizlight.com
  • $60 per each incident called into technical support and/or training. You will be directed to a customer support team member for a resolution.
  • $600 per year for unlimited education and support. This fee does include our online training sessions and our web based eLearning program.

Will there be a SpaBiz Light?
At this time we are only focusing on salons, however, spas can utilize the SalonBiz Light version. If you are in need of spa-specific features, visit www.spabiz.com for more information.

What about customer queries and marketing information?
Customer queries are not available in SalonBiz Light, however we do provide a report that will list all of your customers for marketing purposes.

What type of computer do I need? Do I need to buy a new one?
We don't require that you purchase a "brand new" computer to operate our software, but we do have a few hardware/software requirements.

Are the Enhancement features offered in SalonBiz Light?
Most Enhancement features are only available with SalonBiz and SpaBiz, however, we do offer the following for SalonBiz Light

The following are offered with SalonBiz/SpaBiz Standard and Enterprise versions

Are reports offered with SalonBiz Light?
A limited report suite is available with SalonBiz Light. Unlike with SalonBiz and SalonBiz Enterprise, these reports cannot be set to print automatically.  The following reports are available with the software:
